Photo of my face as a Garmin watch face

Garmin watch faces by Swanson.run

I've been making Garmin watch faces for fun and very little profit. It's tough to get discovered on the Garmin store, but my watch faces are pretty rad and I've put a lot of thought and work into them…so I put them on a web page.

Maybe some poor sap with good taste and a nerdy watch (like you?) will happen upon this page someday. It's possible.

Are these the best Garmin watch faces ever created?

Subjectively? Yes. According to me. Objectively? It's hard to say. I googled it, and apparently the last truly objective statement was uttered in July of 1987 when a man named Todd walked into a sweltering Des Moines hotel meeting room and said, "Is it hot in here, or is it just me?" It wasn't him; it was indeed hot in there. Since then, there has been no measure or observation of the universe that all, or even the majority, of human-kind could agree upon.

Anyway, if you're browsing on your phone, hit the buttons below to go to the Garmin Connect IQ Store page for the specific watch face. From desktop, hover over the links to see the QR code which should open the Connect IQ app on your phone.

Four examples of a wind-centric Garmin watch face with a dark background and three metric gauges. The header text says 'WinderGauges' and the data fields include wind speed/direction, temperature, and steps.

WinderGauges: Wind + Stats

As an amateur runner that trains in the upper Midwest, I built WinderGauges because I need a watch face that gives me a glanceable view of what I'm about to head into, especially the wind, in a single glance. Whether you are cycling with or against the wind, trail running, or just commuting, this face provides the data you need to decided whether to turn left or right before you step out the door.

Features:

  • Wind-First Intelligence. The centerpiece of this design is the wind vector meter. Stop guessing which way the gust is blowing; see the direction and speed instantly so you can adjust your route or clothing.
  • Glanceable Goal Tracking. Three intuitive semicircular activity gauges can be chosen from six available metrics: steps, floors, active minutes, stress, body battery, and heart rate. Track your progress through visual arcs that fill as you move.
  • Topography Theme. Just a reminder that the best days are ones spent outside, conquering the terrain.
  • Smart Temp Display. View both ambient temperature and "feels like" (heat index/wind chill) to dress appropriately for the conditions.
  • Dynamic Activity Arcs. Semicircular gauges for the metrics that matter most to your training.
